How Can You Help?

How It Works We discovered the existence of a wonderful rescue community that covers the country and networks through the internet. Since summer of '07 we have concentrated our placement efforts on transporting our dogs to other rescues in locations with more favorable adoption prospects than we have locally. We transported 63 dogs to out of state rescues in one month alone. We hope to attract approved rescues to join with

Adoption Our adoptable animals are sterilized before adoption if they are old enough. If not, the adopter receives a voucher that will apply to the cost of sterilization, and must agree to sterilize the pet.

We have an application for screening purposes, and a contract upon adoption. The application can be e-mailed upon request. The application, contract and follow-up are to assure a good match and that the pet will be taken care of. We also do home visits and follow up visits. We have reclaimed several pets who were not getting proper care.

Spay/Neuter and Dumping We believe that pets should be sterilized. The reason there are sick, suffering strays is irresponsible people who do not spay or neuter their pets (male and female), then let them run loose or dump them.

One pair of dogs and their offspring can produce 4,372 puppies in seven years.
One pair of cats can breed 12,680 kittens in five years.
One person can prevent at least one such cycle and the suffering it brings.

There are 7 dogs for each human baby born in the U.S.

Animal control consists of killing 4-6 million unwanted dogs every year. Therefore we have started a new program in our area, SNYP.

SNYP (Spay or Neuter Your Pet) started as a new division of Angel Dog Rescue. Through SNYP, low-income families can have their pets fixed at minimal cost through cooperating vet clinics.

The target area for SNYP assistance is Quitman County and surrounding counties in Georgia, and Barbour County in Alabama. Please contact SNYP director, Debbie Woodham at 334-687-5006.

How You Can Help We are a 501(c)(3) charity. We are not supported by any municipality or benefactor. Our money comes from fundraisers and tax deductible donations. Our volunteer workers do not receive payment. All donations are spent on and for the dogs, mostly on vet bills and medical supplies.
